1. Introduction and Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how ("RustHub," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the website at rusthub.com (the "Service"). For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), we are the controller of the personal data described in this Policy.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. Where a legal basis of consent applies (for example, for non-essential cookies in certain jurisdictions), we will ask for that consent separately.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to information collected through the Service. It does not apply to any third-party website or service, including the Steam platform, third-party marketplaces we link to or display prices from, our partner market-data service, or social platforms where we maintain a presence (such as X). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies (see Section 7).

3. Information We Collect

The Service is designed to require as little personal data as possible. It has no user registration, and we do not collect names, account credentials, government identifiers, or payment information. We collect the following limited categories:

3.1 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Service, our servers and service providers automatically receive standard technical data, including your IP address; approximate location derived from your IP address (e.g., country or region); browser type and version; operating system and device type; language settings; referring URL; the pages you view, and the dates, times, and duration of your visits; and diagnostic data such as error logs (collectively, "Usage Data").

3.2 Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies as described in Section 5.

3.3 Information you provide voluntarily

If you contact us — for example by email or by messaging our social accounts — we receive the contact details and message content you choose to send. We use this information only to respond to and administer your inquiry.

3.4 Information we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data (such as health, religious, or biometric data), and we do not ask you to log in with, or provide credentials for, Steam or any other account.

4. How and Why We Use Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes and, where GDPR applies, on the following legal bases:

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it for profiling beyond the aggregate analytics described above.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. We use the following categories:

• Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function — for example, security, load balancing, and (where shown) remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off through our banner.
• Preferences. Remember settings such as display options so you do not have to reset them on every visit.
• Analytics. Help us understand which pages are used and how the Service performs. We use "Cloudflare Web Analytics" / "Google Analytics" for this purpose.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them; parts of the Service may not function correctly without strictly necessary cookies. Where the law requires, non-essential cookies are set only after you consent via our cookie banner, and you can change your choices at any time.

6. When We Share Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only:

• With service providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions — including our hosting and content-delivery provider(s) and our analytics provider(s) named in Section 5. These providers are bound by contract to use the data only to provide their services to us.
• For legal reasons, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RustHub, our users, or the public.
• In a business transfer, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to the transferred data and we will take reasonable steps to notify you of any successor.
• As aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you — for example, overall traffic statistics.

For clarity: market pricing data displayed on the Service flows to us from our data sources (including our partner market-data service, rust.scmm.app); we do not send those sources your personal data.

7. Third-Party Sites and Marketplaces

The Service links to third-party websites, including the Steam Workshop and Steam Community Market (operated by Valve Corporation), third-party marketplaces such as Skinport, and our social pages on platforms such as X. If you follow such a link:

• the destination site may receive standard technical information from your browser, including a referrer indicating that you arrived from the Service and, for affiliate links, a referral tag identifying RustHub as the referring site (this tag does not contain your personal data); and
• your use of the destination site is governed solely by that site's own terms and privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site or service.

8. International Data Transfers

The Service is available globally, and the limited data described in this Policy may be processed in countries other than the one in which you live, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where GDPR applies and personal data is transferred outside the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision of the European Commission (or UK equivalent) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum or International Data Transfer Agreement, as applicable), together with supplementary measures where necessary.

9. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy. As a rule:

• Server and security logs containing IP addresses are retained for approximately 30–90 days, unless a longer period is required to investigate abuse or comply with a legal obligation.
• Analytics data is retained in identifiable form no longer than the retention period configured with our analytics provider, and thereafter only as aggregate statistics.
• Correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the matter and to keep a record of our interactions.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the limited data we handle — including encryption of traffic in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Privacy Rights

11.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Where GDPR or equivalent law applies, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data rectified; have data erased; restrict or object to processing (including processing based on legitimate interests); receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (without affecting prior processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, though we would welcome the chance to address your concerns first.

11.2 California and other U.S. states

If you live in California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to know/access, correct, and delete personal information we hold about you, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. In the preceding 12 months, we have collected only the categories of information described in Section 3 (identifiers such as IP address, and internet activity), for the purposes in Section 4, from the sources and with the disclosures described in Sections 3 and 6.

11.3 Exercising your rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at business@rusthub.com. We may need to verify your request — ordinarily by confirming control of the email address used or by matching technical identifiers you provide — and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization. Note that because we hold so little data, and none of it under your name, we may be unable to link Usage Data to you unless you can provide identifiers such as the IP addresses you used.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is a general-audience reference site relating to a video game rated for mature audiences. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age applicable in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us at business@rusthub.com and we will delete it.

13. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals; there is no common industry standard for responding to them, and the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals. Where required by applicable law, we treat a valid Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice — for example, by posting a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after an updated Policy takes effect signifies your acknowledgment of the updated Policy.
